What does a Systems Engineer do?

A Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing the development, testing and implementation of technical systems. Although a Systems Engineer job description will vary dependent on industry, generally you can expect to be:

How to become a Systems Engineer?

In order to become a Systems Engineer, you typically need a degree in a related field, such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science. Aside from qualifications, Systems Engineer job duties require you to have strong problem solving and analytics skills – you’ll need to be able to adapt quickly and think on your feet!

Knowledge of industry software and tools, such as CAD, will be helpful too. Some companies will provide on-the-job training, but this will vary depending on the position.
