Technical Author in Christchurch, Dorset

ContractARM are recruiting for a Technical Author for a Contract or Permanent opportunity with a market leading Defence Client offering a Hybrid working model predominantly from Dorset.
As a Technical Author, you will be working on key defence projects and be responsible for:
* Request, gather and assess the required source info from equipment suppliers
* Develop and implement the delivered publications database
* Create and maintain the Technical Data Management Plan
* Create and maintain the Data Modules Requirements List
* Provide data modules consistent with the publications database
* Update all publications (including technical drawings) as required
* Produce new IETPs and/or AESPs as necessary
Skills required:
* Extensive experience in the areas listed above under key activities.
* A good understanding of technical source data for systems, sub-systems and Line Replaceable Items/Units (LRU/Is) for generation of technical descriptions for inclusion into relevant technical publications Data Modules (DMs)
* Knowledge and experience of:
* Technical Publications specifications e.g. S1000D, Def Stan 00-601, S1000D Standard Numbering Systems SNS
* Generation and maintenance of a Data Module Requirements List (DMRL)
* Technical authoring processes and techniques using industry proprietary software tools e.g. WebX UltraAuthor CSDB
* Knowledge and experience of XML Data Module technical authoring
* Technical Publications/IETP/CSDB Configuration Management processes
Due to the nature of the sector, you will need to hold current and active UK Security Clearance.
