Assistant Project Manager in Portsmouth, Hampshire

I am currently recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager based in Portsmouth with experience of working in a Project management environment within the Defence sector. This is a great opportunity to join a global, market leading defence client on a permanent basis who offer real training and career development.

As an Assistant Project Manager with Defence sector experience, you will be responsible for:

* Advanced Project reporting internally to the business and with externally to our customers
* Supporting project delivery to time costs and quality
* Opportunity for owning specific work packages for delivery
* Advanced Project schedule management and cost management
* Advanced Problem solving, addressing emergent issues, and putting in place resolution plans with project stakeholders
* Developing proposals for small bids to enable contract growth, including preparing basis of estimates and paperwork to take through business approval
* Engage and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as customers and suppliers
* Deputise for the Project Manager, as appropriate

You should experience of the following:

* Experience in a Project Management environment
* Familiar with the Microsoft Office packages including Microsoft Office Project (Scheduling Tool) and Excel
* Previous experience in the Engineering or Manufacturing Sector

Its preferable that you also have:

* Previous experience in the defence industry
* Experience of managing international stakeholders
* Working knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP system
* Previous experience of supporting or managing bids

Potential for Hybrid working.

Due to the nature of the sector, you will need to be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
