Job Title: MMA Welding & Grinding Technician - Rail Maintenance

Location: Hereford

Salary: £35,785 per annum + Paid Overtime + Shift Premiums

Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role:
As a Welding & Grinding Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining the rail network, specialising in welding and grinding to repair and join rails. Working outdoors in all conditions, you'll be part of a team ensuring the safety and smooth operation of the railway. This role requires working near fast-moving trains, so safety is paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

• Specialise in welding and grinding to repair rails - you will be using Arc & Aluminothermic methods.
• Work outdoors, in all weather, day and night
• Lead and support a team to ensure safe and efficient work delivery
• Follow strict safety protocols and communicate effectively with team members

What You'll Bring:

• Technical knowledge in maintenance and faulting
• A commitment to safety and problem-solving
• NVQ Level 1 or 2 in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Full UK driving licence (Category B)
• MMA 1-4 welding qualification

Additional Requirements:

• Flexibility to work shifts, including nights and weekends
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to pass safety, medical, and driving assessments

Salary and Benefits:

• £35,785 per annum, 35-hour week (with paid overtime)
• 30 days' annual leave (excluding bank holidays)
• Shift premiums for nights & weekends
