Our client, a leading transportation and logistics company headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is embarking on an exciting journey to enact a new strategy plan this year. At the forefront of this plan is a commitment to sustainability, making it an opportune and pivotal time for individuals passionate about driving positive environmental and social impact to join the team. They are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to fill the role of Vice President (VP) of Sustainability. This position is pivotal in shaping and implementing comprehensive sustainability strategies across all aspects of operations.

Role Overview:
As the VP of Sustainability, you will play a key role in leading and overseeing the development, implementation, and management of the company's sustainability strategies, with a primary focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and social responsibility practices. Unlike traditional roles tied to a specific vessel type, this position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to sustainability efforts across the entire organization. You will work closely with various departments to ensure sustainability is integrated into every aspect of business operations.

Key Duties:
1. Strategy and Policy Oversight:
- Review and recommend enhancements to sustainability strategy and related policies.
- Provide strategic oversight for the implementation and operation of sustainability strategies, policies, and standards.

2. Performance and Compliance Monitoring:
- Evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability policies and systems.
- Review performance in executing sustainability strategies, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and voluntary requirements.
- Systematically evaluate adherence to relevant ESG/sustainability regulations, recommending improvements.

3. Risk Management:
- Counsel the Board on risk tolerance and strategy concerning sustainability risks.
- Review and guide the development of processes for identifying, assessing, and managing sustainability risks.

4. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Direct engagement with stakeholders on sustainable business practices.
- Stay informed on best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory developments in corporate sustainability.

5. Special Focus Areas:
- Deliberate and advise on critical focus areas like decarbonization, waste, diversity, inclusion, health, safety, human rights, and community impact.
- Monitor emerging sustainability risks and opportunities, formulating strategies and policies to address them.

6. Reporting and Disclosure:
- Oversee the content, quality, and integrity of sustainability reports.
- Review, approve, and endorse sustainability reports, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
- Communicate sustainability strategy, performance, and impacts to investors and stakeholders.

Requirements:
- Demonstratable knowledge and experience in sustainability.
- Proven track record of leading and implementing sustainability strategies.
- Strong understanding of ESG initiatives, CSR, and social responsibility practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to navigate and advise on critical sustainability focus areas.
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting standards and regulations.
