We provide comprehensive services in the marine and energy world and lead the market in
professional expertise and experience across the major maritime and scientific disciplines. We provide specialist advice on a wide range of inter-disciplinary areas including nautical services, marine and energy loss adjusting, metallurgy, inspection and non-destructive testing and marine engineering. We are looking for a Marine Engineer to join our busy team based in Liverpool.

The aim of the role is to carry out forensic investigations of marine casualties and associated incidents on a worldwide basis on an individual basis or as part of a wider team.

Duties include;

* Carry out investigations and assessments relating to marine engineering matters
* To perform onsite surveys relating to marine engineering matters
* Produce letters and reports detailing the findings of their investigations and/ or attendances
* To provide expert evidence in court/ arbitration in relation to their written expert testimony
* Provide advice/ support to clients in marine engineering related matters
* To follow company operating procedures
* Carry out and assist in marketing activities
* Assist in discipline related and group business development initiatives
* Any other adhoc duties which fall within the individual's abilities

We are looking for;

* A Marine Engineer with a First-Class Certificate of Competency (STCW III/2 - Motor) - essential
* A Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering - preferred
* A high standard of English Language because of the expert witness work (expert report writing, oral testimony in Courts/Arbitrations Internationally) - essential
* The Candidate will have sailed as Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer with experience of operation and maintenance of modern large 2-stroke marine diesel engines (dual fuel fired main engines - LNG/LPG desirable) - essential
