Job Description:
- Assist the Chartering Department in collating the information required by customers during the pre fixture negotiations.
The information required may include:
- Details of the vessels specifications
- Cargo carrying capabilities
- Performance history of the vessel
- Assessing suitability for the trade
- Estimated Voyage Costs
- Port specific information
- Vessel scheduling
To liaise and coordinate with Brokers / Charterers, Agents, Internal departments on efficient & to facilitate execution of the voyage on a 24/7 basis.
- Liaising with accounting and prepare summary of outstanding, receivables.
- Ensure collection of all receivables to improve cash flow.
- Contest / defend and negotiate claims.
- To ascertain that the vessel optimizes cargo intakes & to ensure vessel is sufficiently bunkered.
- To negotiate and appoint port agents, plan bunkers stems as per grades permissible to trading areas.
- To bill for freight and other charterers claims and coordinate with post fixture group.
- Post fixture inputs to Claims Coordinators
- Review and approval of Port Disbursement accounts.
- Record keeping and Data Management in company systems.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have experience in a Voyage Managing capacity or similar; such as chartering, vessel managing or ship operations. Desirably, the candidate should have had some time sailing. The majority of experience should be with Tanker vessels. The candidate should be able to work independently but also feel comfortable collaborating and communicating across all levels of the organization. Vessel operations commands a 24/7 coverage and you should be willing to work extended hours should the situation demand. Discretion and unimpeachable values are paramount, and references should attest to this.
