We are currently recruiting, on our client's behalf, a Transport Planner to join their team based at their London office with remote working. You will join a vibrant team and work on major prestigious projects across the UK, enabling you to advance your career, whilst giving you the freedom to achieve personal growth and development. The role of a Transport Planner is to support senior colleagues and planners through providing project support for a wide range of clients and technical work streams. The role requires knowledge of planning and transport with the ability to provide support to technical solutions from inception through to completion.
The position itself will include, but not be limited to:
- Provide technical support on projects and advice on complex technical issues.
- Ensure all project files are up to date and comply with the QA system
- Draft project content based on clear instructions from project managers
- Manipulating data from a range of sources
- Be part of multi-discipline project teams
- Respond to client and customer requests and enquiries and ensuring that their needs are met
- Flexibility to carry out any duties as and when required for the good of the company
The ideal candidate will have but not be limited to:
- Previous experience in transport planning essential
- Knowledge of Transport Appraisal, Travel Planning, Transportation study techniques and software
- Familiarity with traffic and highway legislation
- Knowledge of relevant technical and policy standards
- Knowledge and practical experience of transport and development planning
- Excellent computer literacy (knowledge of using spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook)
- Knowledge of technical software e.g. SATURN, VISUM, VISSIM, TRANSYT, LINSIG, ARCADY, PICADY, TRICS, TRAVL
- Excellent written and numeracy skills
- Good communication skills
- Preparation of technical reports and documents to a high standard
