Test & Repair Technician in Waverley, Surrey

ARM are working with a precision engineering company that tests and repairs electrical/electronic modules from railway vehicles, who are looking for Test & Repair Technician to join their team in Surrey.
About You:
- You must be able to work responsibly within a small team, often on your own initiative. You should have previous mechanical assembly experience (railway or aircraft fitter is ideal).
- You will have experience or interest in Torque tightening, Mechanical fixings assembly, Crimping (large and small connections). Training can be provided.
- You will be responsible for working safely in a potentially hazardous environment.
- Basic computer skills including use of MS office programs is essential
- You should be able to work alone and set your own work priorities.
- An ONC, A-levels or equivalent level 3 qualification in a Mechanical/Electrical subject would be beneficial, but is not necessary.
What you will be doing:
You will be undertaking the overhaul and testing of larger electrical modules, specifically:
- Initial preparation for testing/repair, such as cleaning and disassembly
- Basic electrical testing using a laptop and simple test tools
- Precise mechanical assembly
- Final testing and inspection
This is a full-time permanent role based from the facility in Waverley, Surrey.
