Permanent1. Test & Metrology Technician (Engine Systems)
2. We are looking for an experienced Test & Metrology Technician for a fulltime and permanent role based in Northampton. As a Test & Metrology Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the automotive plain bearings on dedicated test rigs supporting material research & development projects and production related issues.
3. Responsibilities
* Assists new test developments to meet future requirements, from concept to validation
* Perform testing on dedicated test rigs and measurement using metrology systems
* Assess samples post test and report results through computer database
* Oversee procedures and administration are followed to ensure traceability and robustness of data provided.
* Ability to identify faults and repairs on mechanical, electrical and hydraulics
* Mentor and train technicians and operators
* Supervise department in absence of team leader
Requirements
* Experience in automotive or similar component R&D testing background
* Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulics systems
* Experience of instrumentation systems
* Experience of using measuring equipment, verniers, micrometres
