One of our leading Marine clients are currently looking for a Technical Superintendent to join their team in Weipa, Australia. This client is a well-established company currently employing an excess of 1500 crew and staff worldwide, responsible for a diverse fleet of over 150 vessels in total.

About the role:
Working from the office in Weipa, you will be reporting to the contract manager. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for a continuous maintenance and dry dockings of your assigned vessels, ensuring everything is done in a safe, cost-effective and efficient manner. The TSI in Weipa will be consistent at maintaining the technical status, as well as maximize the uptime of the client's fleet.

Housing and transport will be provided to the successful candidate, whilst working in Weipa.

Your Duties:
* You will make sure that daily activities are following a good standard of safety, professionalism, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
* You will aim to meet client expectations, and you will build close relations as well as 'goodwill' with the customer representatives on site.
* You will execute daily running maintenance within budget on board of your assigned vessels.
* You will monitor and follow up on the PMS.
* You will be generating and approving relevant purchase orders and requisitions, as well as receive & inspect any goods received.
* You will supervise, instruct and offer coaching to Chief Engineers when required, to make sure that the technical management on-board is running smoothly and to a professional standard.
* You will commit to vessel inspections and you will report on the status of mentioned vessels, to the Regional Marine Manager as well as the Contract Manager.
* You will be investigating and analysing root causes of any defects, and you will take time-efficient corrective and preventive actions.
* You will be arranging surveys with flag state and classification authorities and any other relevant parties.
* You will be ensuring the compliance of your assigned vessel' certifications with the flag state and class requirements.
* You will be planning, coordinating and executing dry dockings to great standards, agreed budgets and timeframes.
* You will supervise as well as evaluate activities as well as the performance of any relevant third-party contractors and vendors.
* You will ensure damaged to be surveyed and repaired, in close communication with classification societies, as well as the insurance department.
* You will optimize, as well as implement technical new-build standards.
* Communicate daily with your assigned vessels.

About you:
* Experience in Project Management
* A strong communicator (verbal and written)
* Bachelor's Degree in mechanical/Maritime Engineering or Naval Architecture.
* Minimum 3 - 5 years in Ship Management as a Technical Superintendent or equivalent.
* Team player with a collaborative approach, maintaining high standards and good work ethics.
* High level of organisational and planning skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high quality outcomes that are accurate, complete, and timely.

The successful applicant will be required to satisfy a company pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol and site inductions.
