My client is looking for a contractor to help one of their telco clients undertake technical Product Management development for their MPLS product. The main development is to ensure that the new MPLS connections can support Openreach FTTP wholesale offering.

The key skills are:
1. Extensive telco knowledge in the MPLS and networking space
2. Knowledge of the Cisco router range (1100s in particular) to help select the right product router
3. Ability to manage the testing regime on behalf of the client.

The role requires your in-depth understanding and experience of project planning processes, techniques and methodologies in multi-disciplinary and commercial environments. It would be a great asset for you to have a Project Management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP, etc.) and/or an Agile certification.

You will be responsible for:

• Identifying and managing key stakeholder relationships representing values and standards.
• Developing and gaining agreement of the project plan, and providing regular progress reports to key stakeholders, as well as all general project communications.
• Determining, procuring and managing appropriate resources to deliver the project (functional or divisional team and a small number of third parties), as well as managing all aspects of risks, issues and contingency.
• Coordinating and/or managing virtual teams in a matrix environment.
