We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Staff Engineer/Tech Lead to join our growing tech team. As a Staff Engineer/Tech Lead, you will be the technical lead for small team of engineers working on initiatives to support our engineering strategy, which will be instrumental in driving impact in the business. Location: London or Portsmouth based. Hybrid working applies with 2 days in office, 3 days at home.
Where do you fit in?
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Staff Engineer to come and join our SRE team. The Staff Engineer will act as the technical lead in the SRE team and drive the direction of the technical roadmap, being able to make decisions and take ownership of the technical direction of the team.
As a Staff Engineer you will report to and work with your Engineering Manager to support high performing engineers to deliver at pace. You'll work collaboratively with Engineering leadership and other stakeholders to deliver on key strategic projects on the platform for the year. You'll be the technical lead, which includes supporting and mentoring other individual contributor engineers to deliver at pace, ensuring the other engineering teams have a useable platform that enables them to go faster. This includes providing guidance on technical decision-making with an eye towards simplicity, high standards and a strong bias towards delivery. You'll be hands-on in software system design, architecture, development, testing and monitoring.

What do you need to succeed?
* Be an experienced Staff Engineer with a drive to enable teams to go faster.
* Experience building and using Engineering metrics using GitHub and Jira.
* Knowledge of agile methodologies and practices.
* Google Cloud professional certification or equivalent.
* Data driven performance monitoring and coaching.
* AWS knowledge.
* Terraform capabilities for building and enhancing IaC.
