Technical Buyer - Somerset- Permanent - £30,000 - £36,000

ARM are delighted to be supporting a dynamic, progressive, privately owned company with customers all over the world.

We are recruiting for a Technical Buyer to join them on a permanent basis in Guildford, Surrey.

This role sits withing the Procurement team and focuses on providing a high-quality service ensuring that products are planned and purchased in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities
* Work closely with engineering and Operations to ensure materials and parts are correctly sourced
* Prepare material enquiries based on Technical BOM
* Compile and analyse quotations from global suppliers
* Resolution of Technical queries; liaison with relevant departments and timely response to suppliers.
* Negotiate and commit purchase orders
* Negotiate and implement partnership agreements
* Develop and maintain proactive working relationships with supply base.
* Update and communicate latest lead-time situation for responsible Categories.
* Identification and implementation of cost saving and working capital initiatives.

Requirements
* Relevant procurement experience within a technical engineering environment
* Experience in negotiations, both ad-hoc and strategic
* Experience with sourcing side of New Product Introduction
* Understanding of technical information and experience in the purchase of engineering products
* MCIPS qualified - Desirable.
* Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
* Good IT skills in Word and Excel.
