Main Purpose of the Role :
The purpose of the technical author will be to create accurate and concise storage documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
* Work with SME's to establish the portfolio of documents required
* Work with the SME's to understand each method of backup and restore used within the environment
* Produce high quality comprehensive documentation based on the information obtained
* Ensure documentation meets quality standards and is user-friendly
* Submit the documents for peer review and amend as required

Skills and Experience:
Essential
* Excellent technical authoring skills
* Good understanding of Infrastructure generally (Windows, Unix, Linux, Networking, Virtualisation)
* Possess a good working knowledge IT infrastructure in general. More detailed knowledge of Storage and Backup systems (EMC Networker, Rubrik & TSM) would be preferable
* Expert in the use of standard authoring tools such as Word, Excel and Visio

Work Experience:
Essential:
* Proven experience as a technical author, preferably in storage
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
* Proven track record of delivering to challenging time scales
