You will be a Systems Safety Engineer working with an industry-leading Defence and Aerospace company where you will be given the chance to develop your skills further and be involved in an exciting and challenging set of projects.

You will be involved in developing and executing safety plans in accordance with customer and safety management requirements for complex systems while developing acceptable risk criteria definitions, hazard identifications, and hazard analyses. Furthermore, you will develop safety requirements for sub-systems along with the review and guidance of supplier safety programs and artefacts.

To succeed in this role, you will need experience in the following:

• Familiar with the relevant Safety Standards and requirements for the development of hazardous and safety-related systems.
• Familiar with the safety assessment for nuclear and other complex specialist domains
• Proven experience in systems or function safety roles involved in product development
• Detailed understanding and experience of UK safety legislation and associated harmonised standards.
• Experience with IT-based tool sets common to the system safety discipline
• Competent in the use of MS Office applications.
• The role will require the candidate to have good verbal and written skills.
• Knowledge of functional safety including the determination and allocation of SILs for Electrical/Electronic and Programmable Electronic (software) systems is desirable.
