As a system engineer in the Public Safety CAD business unit, you will be responsible for the technical implementation of CAD solutions throughout the entire project lifecycle for our Control Room Solution projects. Working under the guidance of the Delivery Project Manager and Technical Solution Manager you will be involved in the build, commissioning and testing of CAD solutions.
This is a new role within the U.K business, working on our latest control room solutions, therefore they are looking for a System Engineer who is up for this challenge.
The role is home based, with an expectation of regular attendance to customer sites, with travel to both our UK office & occasionally across Europe.
Your Main Responsibilities
* System build, Integration, and Commissioning of On-Premise/Cloud based solutions to public sector customers
* System configuration per customer requirements
* Collaborate with Technical Solution Manager/Solution Architect for decisions on implementation of complex technical solutions & system optimisation
* Communicating with customers about technical issues
* System/Software troubleshooting and fault diagnosis/resolution - working with development teams to identify and resolve system issues.
* Inspecting and accepting products from sub suppliers and partners prior to implementation
* Creating work instructions/work plans for use by projects
* Assisting the CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) solution consultant with new configuration and testing.
* Assisting with technical responses when there is a bid in progress.
* Assisting with technical training and user configuration training, sharing knowledge of the solution with the customer enabling them to fulfil the potential of the solution.
Your Experience
* CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) technical delivery experience.
* UK Public Safety experience would be ideal.
* telecommunications systems (Telephony/Radio Integration) experience.
* Knowledge of Mission Critical /resilient systems architecture
* Awareness of Cloud technologies (primarily Microsoft Azure)
* Good technical documentation writing skills Network and IT
* Microsoft Windows Server/Desktop platform system build and configuration.
* Active directory and configuration and management
* Solid Project delivery experience
* Requirements Engineering
* Geospatial Mapping experience is desirable but no essential
