You will be working as a Systems Engineer for a large Defence company who develop and supply a broad portfolio of aerospace, land and maritime systems and products for defence, national security, and commercial aviation applications who have excellent benefits and career progression opportunities.
As the Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the transfer of technology for assigned systems/subsystem and developing system architectures, requirements and sub-system specifications. They will ensure requirements can be tested and proven prior to implementation in the design as well as carry out problem solving to rectify any architectural or requirements issues identified.
Due to the nature of the work being done in this role, Security clearance up to SC will be required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Support in developing system architectures
- Producing and validating requirements
- Writing sub-system specifications and requirements
- Capturing test evidence
- Maintain the requirements database
- Managing the flow of requirements between client/customer and subcontractors
- Support the development of integration plans and procedures
- Support the setting up systems for tests and trials
- Support system and sub-system integration tests and trials
- Produce tests and trials reports as part of requirements verification
Your required experience:
- Experience in the development and the management of complex electronic and software systems development
- System architecture and requirements decomposition
- Requirements validation (SMART)
- Development of sub-system specifications to satisfy system requirements
- Managing the requirements flow between authority/client, and subcontractors.
- Competent in problem solving and analytical techniques in a methodical and logical manner to solve development and integration challenges
- Support the development of test approaches
- Presenting formally at requirements, Test Readiness and Design Reviews / Integration events
- Experience in managing the requirements for large MoD programmes
- Producing technical progress reports and test/trials reports
- Experience of decomposing DefStans and mapping atomic requirements
- Software Tools - Full IBM ELM Suite comprising Rhapsody, DOORs, RQM & RTC
Your desirable experience:
- Knowledge and experience in software/electronics development
- Previous experience of working with Royal Navy platforms
- ISO Standards - ISO15288, ISO12207 (Software), ISO61508 (Safety Critical Systems)RCTA/DO Standards (Safety) - DO178C, DO-330
