Systems Administrator in Banwell, Somerset

PermanentOur client are seeking a Systems Administrator to join their team based onsite in Yatton.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of IT systems and associated infrastructure. You'll provide a high quality service offering network, user & hardware support, network administration and IT implementation/development. This is a site based role.
Key Tasks
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks; including back-ups, and software maintenance/updates
- Protecting the company's IT assets - hardware and software - by implementing sound security principles.
- Liaising with suppliers and third parties as required in order to manage support issues or deliver projects.
- Working with the IT team to design and implement IT processes in order to maximize efficiency.
- Administration to include: maintenance of the asset register, control of passwords, keeping informed and reacting to trends in anti-virus, email and web security
- Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
- The logging of all hardware and software to ensure legality, appropriate usage and protection of company assets
- Talking staff/clients through a series of actions - either face-to-face, over the telephone or remotely.
- Replacing equipment as required.
- Providing support documentation, including procedural documentation
- Running network applications to support system and users
- Supporting new applications; to include training of users where required
- Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs
- Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
- Prioritising and managing several open cases at one time
- Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with staff in company premises to make necessary repairs
- Testing/evaluating/implementing new technology as required for the improved running of the business.
- Supporting other non-computer IT assets e.g. telephones and security cameras.
Skills / Experience
- Experience with Microsoft application including Server, Windows, Office. Including on-premise and 365 cloud environments.
- Virtualisation with HYPERV and VMware.
- Experience with fibre networking, Cisco switches and Meraki wi-fi points
- Strong administration skills
- Highly efficient task management skills
- Strong project management skills
- Efficient Time management
