Our client is looking for a skilled technical leader with proven experience in mentor-ship and coaching teams to success whilst still remaining hands-on, utilising your technical skill set to code and help create, implement, and develop new products for a large digital enterprise in a growing engineering department.
The goal is to be recognised as a high-performing, delivery-focused organisation that serves as a model for all levels of engineers seeking meaningful career progression. Your job as a Staff Engineer will be to support the team and to play a key role in taking critical technical decisions that shape and build the projects.
Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you'll act as the technical expert on exciting projects advocating for best practice. The role of a Staff Engineer is to focus on key strategic projects to provide clarity during planning and estimation. You'll ensure the resolution of bugs and tech debt and manage risk proactively whilst coaching the wider tech team. Ideally you'll have a tech stack of Node.js, React, and Typescript, we are open to exploring a variety of tech stacks and approaches. Day to day, you'll provide technical steer, oversee infrastructural changes and ensure regular, incremental feature and system improvements.

Requirements:
You'll have hands-on experience in software system design, architecture, development, testing and monitoring covering both backend and frontend.
Node.js, React and Typescript experience
You'll have expert level of development experience in at least one modern programming language. You'll also be skilled in agnostically choosing the language that suits a project.
You'll be up to date with modern software engineering practices relating to design, development, testing and maintenance. You'll also be experienced in professional software development practices and tools, including GitHub and Jira.
You'll be an accomplished technical senior with experience working closely with Product Managers to deliver high quality products.
Google Cloud experience, or equivalent.
