The role
The Digital team performs a key role in creating a competitive advantage, as well as enabling the business to deliver building design that achieves excellence in Net Zero Carbon energy performance as well as human-centric outcomes. Software engineers in digital teamwork in a highly collaborative manner to develop new tools and features on our bespoke Origin platform, a web-based application built in React and underpinned by Graph data.

Responsibilities in the role-
Use your ingenuity to find innovative solutions to complex problems
Be an effective communicator and pro-actively collaborate with the PO and a cross-functional team
Be an active participant in scrum delivery and agile ceremonies
Utilise your skills and experience with JavaScript, Typescript, and React to develop new features and functionality
Build modular front-end interfaces and predictable APIs
Write maintainable code using established patterns and practices
Apply TDD and SOLID approach to coding
Write unit or E2E tests to improve the testing coverage across code
Ensure continuous improvement through new processes and practices that help improve the team for the better
Take pride in your contribution to a modern software platform through promoting best practices and writing clear documentation

General experience required-
Experience maintaining design systems
Front-end accessibility
Experience in working within the AEC industry

Essential experience-
NodeJS
Typescript
React
GraphQL
Jest, Testing-Library, Cypress
Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Webpack

Desirable experience-
A deep understanding of graph databases
Neo4j
NodeRED
Database experience with Neo4j, MongoDB or similar
Ability and willingness to occasionally travel throughout the UK if required
