Senior Safety Engineer in Plymouth, Devon

About the Role:

The Energy Division at ARM is currently seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to join the Defuel team at HMNB Devonport. As a Senior Safety Engineer, you will support the Defuel23 program of work, preparing a dock for the defueling and dismantling of submarines.

Some of your Duties will include

Your activities will include but won't be limited to:

• Providing Nuclear and Radiological knowledge and support to the business,
• Offering technical advice on Nuclear Safety Assessment processes and policy,
• Ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and the terms of the Site Licence,
• Delivering Nuclear Safety Cases and Licensing Plans,
• Developing and Implementing Nuclear Safety processes and standards.

What do you need to succeed?

• Educated to Degree level in an Engineering or Scientific discipline and/or have relevant knowledge and experience.
• Registered as a Chartered Engineer (or be working towards chartered status).
• Good interpersonal skills and be competent in verbal and written communication.
• Specific experience in Deterministic Safety Analysis to support this area of Safety Case development.
• A background in nuclear/radiological safety is highly beneficial for the roles we are looking to fill.
