Senior Quality Inspector in Basingstoke, Hampshire

PermanentOur client is looking for a Senior Quality Inspector to join their team in the Basingstoke area.
In this role, you will oversee the Inspection team, leading by example and developing the team into a quality conscious, precise and meticulous department.
Ideally, you would have:
* Apprenticeship or Higher Education Qualification in Engineering.
* Experience as a Quality Inspector/Quality Engineer in CNC machining and precision manufacturing environment.
* Experience supervising/managing a small team, strong leadership skills
* Confidence in the use of hand measurement tools.
* Proficiency in CMM programming.
* Ability to read engineering drawings and have knowledge of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances.
* Quality control experience, preferably AS9100.
* High attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and time management skills.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
* Inspection of precision parts using measurement equipment and CMM's to ensure accuracy of dimensions and tolerances stated upon drawings.
* Perform routine visual and dimensional inspection and check for surface defects, cleaning, chipping, etc.
* Compiling, completing and checking accuracy of documentation relating to products (Routings, CMM reports, Certificate of Conformities (CofC's), First Article's (FAIR's), customer quality assurance documentation).
* Complete NCR's when necessary and support 8D Process Programme.
* Maintain calibration system always ensuring it's up to date.
* Work with the production teams to encourage and ensure all documentation is complete.
* Manage the inspection team, delegate and assign tasks to maintain efficiency, ensure policies, procedures and processes are followed, proactively train the team, motivate, resolve conflict, conduct one-to-ones etc.
* Investigate quality issues, work to rectify and implement changes to promote continuous improvement.
* Any additional duties as required by the Production Manager.
This is a Monday to Friday role. Working hours will be Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30 and Friday: 07:30 - 14:00.
For this role, our client would be willing to pay up to £38,000 per annum.
