Senior Nuclear Design Engineer in Derby, Derbyshire

The Energy Division at ARM is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Nuclear Design Engineer to join a Nuclear Defence client, to be based out of Reading.

Job Duties:

* Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the relevant legislation, standards, and documentation associated with the design of pressure services.
* Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the analysis techniques and tools used for substantiation of pressure vessels and associated equipment.
* Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.
* Produce technical design and substantiation documentation to support the delivery of the V6X Vessel Services work package.
* Support production of technical specifications for outsourced work packages.
* Review and check analysis and design work provided by suppliers.
* Provide tasking information to the Lead Engineer to support project planning.

What do you need to succeed?

* Knowledge of pressure regulations
* Working knowledge of at least one of the following analysis types; Implicit FEA and, Explicit FEA

* Pressure equipment substantiation to ASME BPVC, PD5500, or similar.
* Knowledge of explosively loaded vessel design and/or blast loading.
* Able to deliver design work to support a Nuclear Site Licence, specifically conditions: LC19 Construction or Installation of New Plant; LC20 Modifications to Design of Plant Under Construction and/or LC 22 Modification or Experiment on Existing Plant Experience

Petro-chem industry background would be advantageous.

HNC/HND Qualification/relevant engineering discipline - essential
