Senior Mechanical Engineer

Based in New Malden, you will be working with a leading Defence and Aerospace company as a Senior Mechanical Engineer.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be working on cutting-edge technology, designing hardware and overseeing compliance for an important National Defence Submarine Programme.

Due to the nature of this role SC clearance will be required once started.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Own and support mechanical/electro-mechanical hardware designs, working very closely with the entire Hardware Engineering Discipline
• Assist with the development of other members of the Mechanical Engineering team
• Produce and review mechanical drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM) prior to sign off
• Drive sheet metal design, machining and manufacturing tasks
• Produce and maintain technical documentation to meet customer requirements

For this, your experience will include:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar level of experience
• Understanding of BS8888 and Geometrical Tolerancing
• Knowledge of a variety of manufacturing techniques (e.g. 3D printing, casting etc.)
• Understands design and manufacturing processes
• Proficient in either Creo or AutoDesk Inventor and PDM (ideally Windchill)
