Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Oxford, Oxfordshire

ARM are working with a specialist consultancy, looking to find a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their experienced team in Oxford. This will suit someone with extensive experience of Mechanical Building Services design, ideally across a variety of sectors.
About You:
- Excellent technical knowledge in Mechanical Design Engineering and a well-rounded understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.
- Previous consultancy experience: you will appreciate the importance of complementary specialisms such as sustainability, fire engineering and acoustics in the design of buildings.
- Significant experience with relevant software e.g. Hevacomp, IES, Revit
- Autonomous approach: able to lead small to medium sized projects and able to take a brief from the project lead on large projects and deliver and control the tasks required.
- Appreciation of client needs, with ability to face clients.
- Understand and identify resource needs.
- Experience mentoring and supervising less experienced members of staff.
- Chartered, or proactively working towards chartered engineer status.
What you will be doing:
- You will be working primarily on a variety of projects with opportunity to work on projects in the UK and Internationally.
- You will be able to lead mechanical services design on large projects, to utilise the opportunity to lead the overall MEP delivery on small to medium sized projects.
- You will act as a technical mechanical lead.
- Carry out construction stage monitoring duties, including submission reviews and site-based duties.
- Responsible for dealing successfully with Clients and other professionals.
- Awareness of consultant appointment conditions.
- Competently represent the company at project meetings.
- Manage and prioritise the workload of a project team, working alongside our internal specialist groups.
- Host and chair internal project team meetings.
- Contribute to the professional development of individual team members.
- Actively identify opportunities for your career progression and provide support the for the career development of others.
- Plan, monitor and report resource and cost requirements.
- Ensure quality standards and technical accuracy is delivered.
This is a full-time permanent role based in Oxford on a hybrid basis.
