Senior Manager – Plant Vehicle Team in Gaydon, Warwickshire

Job Purpose:
o Lead a highly skilled team who are responsible for directing the resolution of complex technical issues by cross functional teams (including R&D, Parts, Manufacturing Engineering).
o Scope of responsibility includes both Core and SVO products and all areas of Production
o Provide Quality support such as data analysis, application of problem solving processes etc to all areas of production.
o Ensure that Problem owners implement immediate, robust containment for all defects to support no faults forward approach.
o Coordinate the investigation with all relevant areas of the business with clear allocation of responsibility
o Review and drive progress daily, within the PQR and Quality Committee as appropriate
o Own all potential 300 calls (flowout) in plant and coordinate actions via the SCRAG list
o Lead both TRG and CCRG process working with all areas including legal council to make recommendation to the field
o Coordinate change management in plant in ensure robust implementation

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Problem Solving - Chronic + Complex issues
Be the first point of contact and work with Manufacturing lead or support problem resolution for chronic and complex issues
* Implement initial containment and analysis of the problem
* Coordinate teams from R+D, Production, Man Eng and Quality (Parts) with allocation of tasks utilising the AMPS process.
* Present progress at the PQR / Quality Committee up to CEO level
2. 300 call and Flow-out Management
For any safety and/or regulatory issue found in house with a potential risk in the field
* Lead the 300 call process, in terms of actions in house
* Follow up with actions based on the resulting in house sweep
* Consider risk in field and if required lead the TRG/CCRG process to decide on next actions
* Close out using the SCRAG reviews with the Head of Quality
3. TRG/CCRG (Technical Review Group/Critical Concern Review Group) -
Lead the 2 forums in support of actions required in the field based on regulation, safety, service campaign and possible recall
* Lead/Chair the review meeting with the Quality, Legal Council and R+D VP's in attendance
* Explain detailed investigation and results with support from appropriate depts
* Formally decide on action in field (service campaign, fix on fail, recall etc) up to CEO level
* Coordinate communication to both Dealers and appropriate organisations (eg NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) -eg ASM stall in China
4. Vehicle Attributes
For Chronic+Complex attribute issues (Water-leak, Wind-noise and Road test)
* Implement initial containment and analysis of the problem
* Coordinate teams from R+D, Production, Man Eng and Quality (Parts) with allocation of tasks utilising the AMPS process
* Present progress at the PQR / Quality Committee up to CEO level
5. Audit Operations
* Compliance:
* Control conformity of production verification and legal compliance. Ensure that the required schedule delivers the COP requirements across all models and all areas of the manufacturing process, supporting the introduction of incremental requirements as new models are delivered. While also supporting the launch functions in determining the new model requirements, develop the necessary plans to deliver seamlessly into the current vehicle environment.
* Emissions:
* Work with L+C to define the emissions testing requirements year on year based on current and new regulations and regional requirements and then define and execute a plan to complete this.
* Vehicle Audit:
* Lead the team to deliver the vehicle audit schedule (static and full audits) based on customer requirements, as well as continuous improvement of the system (e.g. customer feedback and standard alignment (CSI/0MIS/PDI/EPDRs), process improvements, new model changes etc)
* Manage AMCPA feedback sessions with all responsible areas of the business holding attendees accountable for full robust closure of issues preventing repeat/re-occurrence of issues.
* General:
* Continually develop the team to develop further and become more effective, looking at ways to adapt and support in exceeding the customers' expectations.
* Lead the development of the team for current and new model training in conjunction with the Strategy and training teams, ensuring the team are prepared for changing requirements and or new model requirements.

Qualification & Experience:
* Degree educated or relevant job experience
* Understanding of Quality systems
* Previous experience in Quality and Production (automotive/OEM).
* A knowledge of Quality tools and processes is essential.
* Previous management experience within the Automotive industry
* Familiar with Lean manufacturing methods and techniques.
* Knowledge of Quality tools and processes.
* Leadership skills, able to negotiate and influence others.
* Lead the continuous development and training activities for FLT in the short and medium term.
* Lead, review and support PPS and route cause analysis activities. Engage functions, where required, to generate effective permanent corrective actions.
* Good interpersonal skills, able to manage, motivate, coach teams and achieve objectives.
* Structured, organised and logical in approach.
* Good interpersonal skills - ability to manage, motivate and coach teams to achieve objectives.
* Flexibility to operate within 'Working time flexibility'
* Travel may be required.
