Senior Estimator in Birmingham, West Midlands

Job Title: Senior Estimator
Location: London or Birmingham (3 days per week on site)
Engagement Type: PAYE Contract
Duration: 6 months
Rate: £550 per day

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Estimator with proven experience in heavy civils, rail, and major projects to support a major UK rail programme. You will lead estimating activities, provide assurance on contractor submissions, and develop both order-of-magnitude and first principle estimates.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and review project estimates across multiple packages.
• Produce accurate cost estimates using RMM1, CESMM4 and estimating software.
• Provide assurance and benchmarking of contractor estimates.
• Mentor junior estimators and review outputs.
• Prepare basis-of-estimate reports for director review.
• Engage effectively with engineers, clients, and stakeholders.

About You

• Strong background in heavy civils and rail estimating.
• Skilled in methods of measurement and take-offs.
• Proficient with estimating tools and software.
• Confident in stakeholder engagement and reporting.
