An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with one of our large aerospace companies!
The role offers a competitive benefits package. It is based in Wimborne with a flexible approach to home working, including the option for a 9 day fortnight.
Your role involves:
- Automated electrical test design and development for both legacy and new product developments, within the field of military aerospace applications. The applications can range from in house production acceptance tests for customer bound systems, to the development of the systems themselves.
- A varied range of activities from hands-on laboratory duties to desk based engineering tasks.
- Providng technical expertise to a range of projects and product developments. Aligning technical solutions to organizational objectives to ensure the optimum business benefit.
- Team working with a diverse team of engineers to achieve to collective goals..
Your main responsibilities:
- Apply aerospace engineering principles and working knowledge to a range of technical problems that require imaginative and practical solutions.
- Research, develop, design and test electronic components, equipment, controllers, devices and systems.
- Perform electrical test tasks from concept to introduction to use, taking particular account of value, design for re-use, safety, validation, and configuration management.
- Create and review supporting documentation that defines the processes and procedures that control the governance and operation of electrical test activity.
- Mentor engineers within the team where appropriate, supporting the development of skills and capability in specialist subject areas.
Qualifications required:
- Engineering or science degree, or equivalent experience.
- Automated Test Equipment (ATE) development and implementation of test strategy for board level, LRU, and systems as applied to the aerospace domain experience.
- Familiar and experienced with the use of a range of structured problem-solving techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail with a right-first-time mind-set.
- Competence in the creation of test procedures and reports.
- Experienced user of NI TestStand and/or NI LabVIEW.
- Comfortable with the use of digital and analogue hardware and ability to debug using laboratory instruments (DMM, Oscilloscope, etc.).
- An understanding of requirements management, configuration management, and an understanding of health & safety requirements applicable to office and laboratory environments.
