The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer (Nuclear) to join our Nuclear Defence Client, to be based out of Plymouth.
Role overview:
One of the key scope elements within MIP is establishing a deep maintenance capability for out of service submarines, which is delivered under the programme banner of 5 Basin East Wall Centre & South. This work comprises a number of interrelated projects to develop various multi-disciplinary infrastructure systems, with an overall value in excess of £100m.
Some of your duties will include:
- To assist the Electrical Services Engineering Lead in delivery of the electrical services related engineering work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule and cost.
- Supervise and provide on-the-job guidance to the junior staff.
- Support development, construction, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of all Facilities to ensure that they comply with the design intent and DNSP's for Nuclear related Works, together with all relevant Local and National Regulations and Legislation.
- Participate in the problem solving for development of technical solutions to deficiencies or in the development of new designs.
- Support the review and sentencing of new designs, methodology of construction and temporary works submitted to the Technical Authority.
What do you need to be considered?
- Sound project specification, planning, project management and budgeting experience.
- Experience of the design support to construction, operation, and refit/repair of complex regulated facilities.
- Be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required for the technical delivery of complex design development throughout the design lifecycle.
- The candidate will have a degree or equivalent in an Electrical or Electronic Engineering related discipline.
- Preferably Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards it and member or associate member of the relevant institute.
