Strutural Engineer – Offshore Wind in Kingston upon Thames, London

The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting for experienced Structural Engineers to join our client, who are an established Global Contractor, specialising in the Offshore & Onshore Energy Sector.

Location: London/Surrey area

Role Type: Approx. 12 month contract

Rate: Negotiable p/d - OUTSIDE IR35

What your role will look like:

• To Perform and be Responsible for structural analysis tasks by means of modelling in company standard structural analysis software (Primarily in SACS as well as in STAAD and GT-STRUDL).
• Ideally to have relevant analytical experience in other relevant offshore structural engineering analysis software ANSYS used for detailed stress analysis of offshore structures.
• Perform detailed design calculations in accordance with current requirements and the latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations (DNV GL, API, AISC, EC and Norsok).
• Review/comment and approve Structural drawings for steel structures based upon Engineering Design.
• Prepare high-quality Design Reports and to maintain records in accordance with Department Operating Procedures
• Ensure that all activities are carried out in a manner consistent with the company's policy on health, safety, quality and environmental matters in accordance with company procedures.

What software will you be using?

• SACS
• STAAD
• ANSYS
• GT STRUDL

What do you need to succeed?

• BEng, M.Eng, or M.Sc in Civil/Structural Engineering or similar. Chartered Engineer or progressing towards charted status.
• Relevant offshore energy industry experience with a proven track record of delivering high-quality Structural Engineering.
• Ability to apply engineering principles to solve challenging problems and to work effectively within a small team.
