About the Role:
The Energy Division at Advanced Resource Manager is currently look for a Senior Design Engineer to a Leading Nuclear Defence Business
Key Responsibilities Include:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer to lead and support a team in providing technical engineering support and advice, and leading design activities relating to process engineering supporting dockyard facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing and developing a small team of Design Engineers
- Developing and delivering designs in accordance with the design process (Start-up, Concept, Scheme, Detailed, and Implementation phases)
- Managing the production, checking, and approval of technical documentation and drawings
- Leading engineering analyses including calculations, component structural analysis, and system fluid flow simulation/analysis
- Ensuring compliance with nuclear site licence conditions, statutory legislation, and design codes/standards
- Providing through-life technical support for nuclear process assets
- Estimating, prioritizing, and producing work schedules/project programmes
What you need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An understanding of mechanical engineering principles for the design, operation, and maintenance of pressure/pipework systems
- Knowledge of the design lifecycle
- Knowledge of general regulations, legislation, and standards applicable to nuclear process and pressure system design
- Knowledge of project specification, planning, and budgeting
- Technical experience with one or more of the following: pressure systems, computer-aided design, component engineering simulation, system fluid flow analysis, nuclear plant design
- Strong personal competencies including good organisational and time management skills, good communication skills (oral and written), questioning attitude, attention to detail, logical approach to problem-solving, flexible approach to work, ability to work with others and independently, professional attitude and approach to work
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of an HND/FdSc/FdEng or equivalent in a mechanical/process engineering discipline and be professionally registered with an engineering institution.
