Research & Development Engineer in Southampton, Hampshire

PermanentWe are recruiting for a Research & Development Engineer to work for our client in the Southampton area. This is a permanent role and you will work as part of an innovative team who develop new manufacturing processes, as well as improving existing methods in their production environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work for an established organisation who have a strong reputation in their sector of work.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Mechanical Engineering degree
- Experience of process improvement in a manufacturing environment
- Problem solving experience
- DMAIC / Six Sigma knowledge
- Software programming skills
The duties will be varied, to include prototyping, developing and verification of new products. You will design new jigs for small-scale trials, and ensure that new methods of development conform to the necessary regulatory requirements. You will train staff in the manufacturing team to use the new equipment and will write technical reports as required.
