Gordon Murray Technologies combines the expertise of visionary designers and engineers to bring disruptive technologies and low environmental impact innovations to the mobility sector. Critical to the implementation of iStream Superlight are integral modules and systems engineered by Gordon Murray Electronics which deliver a range of electrical functionalities - these technologies also being scaleable to serve the delivery demands of any specific platform configuration.
With multiple sites in Shalford, Dunsfold and Warwick, the Gordon Murray Technologies continues to grow with multiple vehicle programmes currently in development. As a result, we currently have exciting opportunities for an Rear axle Lead - Lead Engineer to join our Chassis Team in either Shalford or Warwick.
Responsibilities:
- Undertakes defined assignments
- Develops workflows to deliver assignments
- Prepares portions of project documentation (models, drawings, reports etc.)
- Assists on a wide variety of tasks across departments and functions as required
- Engineering responsibility (including design and release) of full vehicle chassis systems:
- Suspension Links
- Corner Springs and Dampers
- Roll and Heave Control
- Uprights and Hubs
- Wheels and Tyres
- Foundation Braking
- Brake Actuation
- Parking Brake
- Steering
- Pedals and Pedal BoxDesign for manufacture and assembly for responsible components and assemblies
- Ensuring responsible designs meet legal compliance
- Work Package Management
- System package
- Subsystem specification and analysis
- Component concept design and analysis
- Component and system specification
- Technical procurement support
- Outsource supplier management to budget and timing
- Design Sizing Analysis
- Sub system loads
- Joints and interfaces
- Materials selection
- Bolt calculations
Experience and Qualifications:
- 2+ years' experience in the automotive sector
- Experience of rear axle design content
