Purchasing Assistant in Fareham, Hampshire

Purchasing Assistant -Fareham - Permanent - £23,000 - £28,000 DOE

ARM are delighted to be supporting a leading business with the recruitment of a Purchasing Assistant on a permanent basis.

The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for purchasing all material for project related orders and items for non-project related orders.

Responsibilities
* Respond to material requirements for project related orders.
* Requesting quotations from suppliers and handling price negotiations and complaints.
* Keep MRP software up to date with supplier lead times to ensure accurate stock availability. Purchase items required for day to day running of the business.
* Purchase all items in line with Approved Suppliers List and in line with Operating Procedures.
* Work across CU to maintain purchasing efficiencies.
* Maintain Approved Supplier List and supplier files with all key correspondence / agreements and supplier questionnaires.
* Ensure that the VP Supply Chain Management is informed of any potential shortfalls relating to orders.
* Building and maintaining supplier relationships.

Requirements
* 2 years purchasing experience is essential.
* Highly numerical person with great attention to detail.
* Market knowledge in electronics is an advantage.
* High degree of MS Office knowledge is essential (with emphasis on Excel).
* Experience in Sage 50 and MRP Software
* Strong communication skills
