PMO Lead

Location: Aberdeen - 2 to 3 days a week onsite | Salary: £557.42 per day (Inside IR35) | Contract: ends December 2026 - interim

We are looking for an experienced PMO Lead to join our client's organisation during an exciting period of set-up and mobilisation.

Reporting to the Head of Programme Delivery, you will combine hands-on project delivery with PMO leadership and programme governance. You will lead projects and complex workstreams while helping establish proportionate delivery standards, governance, reporting and controls across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects and complex workstreams from initiation to closure.
• Support business leads and PMO managers to establish effective projects and programmes.
• Develop and embed delivery standards, templates, controls and ways of working.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies, plans and benefits.
• Design and improve programme and portfolio governance and reporting.
• Provide clear, actionable insight to senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functional input from finance, commercial and other teams.

About you

You will have:

• Proven experience delivering complex or high-risk projects/programmes within time, cost and quality constraints.
• Strong project lifecycle, risk and issue management experience.
• Experience developing governance, controls and PMO approaches in changing environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including engagement with senior leaders.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work autonomously amid ambiguity and competing priorities.
• A recognised project/programme management qualification, or be working towards one, such as PRINCE2, MSP, Agile PM, APM Practitioner or ChPP.
