ARM are delighted to be supporting one of our clients in Northampton with the recruitment of a Project Buyer on an initial 3-6 month contract.

The Project buyer will work with their teams to ensure all parts and services are procured using the company procedures, whilst at the same time working to the latest legal requirements and continually looking for the best contractual terms.

Requirements:
* Liaise with SQE to ensure any issues are documented and resolved efficiently.
* Ensure parts are delivered on time to specification to minimise business risk.
* Ability to balance varied workload.
* Support Vendor onboarding processes.
* Help develop the supply chain as we diversify from traditional ICE units to support a wide range of powertrain technologies.
* Build relationships with suppliers.
* Work closely with the engineering team and other internal stakeholders to support the range of projects taking place.
* Execute procurement activities to comply with company processes, while ensuring project deliverables are met in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

* Purchasing experience within either a Manufacturing, Engineering or Automotive business.
* Working knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
* Knowledge of Windchill or similar PDM/PLM system is desirable.
* Excellent negotiation skills.
* General understanding of Markets, Products & Commodities.
* Good contract law knowledge is desirable.
* Proficient IT skills particularly in MS Office is essential.
