Production Planner in Hatfield, Hertfordshire

Production Planner - Hatfield - 6 Month contract - £Competitive

ARM are delighted to be supporting a leading transport business with the Recruitment of a Production Planner on 6 month basis.

The role of the Production Planner/Scheduler is a diverse position covering the planning, scheduling, releasing and tracking of workflow from the engineering department and through the manufacturing department.

Responsibilities:
* Function as the focal point in creating a production schedule.
* Provide an in-depth audit on production requirements, manufacturing capacity, schedule, and workforce size.
* Monitors, analyses, and reports performance to schedule of production activities.
* Assist the manufacturing department to actively manage the production schedule.
* Research and assign manufacturing times and due dates on parts as needed and document during the releasing process.
* Identify and resolve supplier and internal errors that result in budget or schedule discrepancies.
* Provide continuous improvement of the planning and reporting processes.
* Research order and delivery discrepancies and resolve MRP related issues. Take appropriate corrective actions.
* to prevent similar issues.
* Stay informed of current projects, manufacturing workload, and manufacturing processes.

Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Production Planner in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience within the Rail Industry or similar.
* Excellent understanding of Supply Chain & logistics principles and processes
* Knowledge of demand management and material planning.
* Must have knowledge of SAP.
