My client in the telco industry is looking for a Product Owner to join their fast paced team for an initial 6 month contract.

About the team-
As a Product Owner you'll sit within the Product 'Chapter' alongside other Product Owners. My client depends on its Product Owners to represent the voice of the customers and colleagues. Product owners drive and inspire the business to deliver incomparable value to customers. Each of our product owners operate in one of the Enabling or Product Tribes across the business. Product Owners may be responsible for Digital, Data, Insights, Commercial or Customer Proposition products. The Product you'll own will depend on your skills, expertise, interests and business priorities.

About the role-
As "the voice of the customer" you are accountable for maximising the value of the product(s) resulting from your squad. You'll work with your Squad members, Tribe lead, Chapter lead and Agile Coach to define and prioritise initiatives aligned to the strategic objectives of the organisation.

In order to deliver business value, you'll need to be comfortable and confident in discussing, negotiating and agreeing your squads requirements with other Product Owners, Tribe leads, Chapter leads and Colleagues across the business. As a Product Owner, you are required to prioritise and make key decisions impacting business objectives and key results, as such you'll be relied upon to influence stakeholders whilst simultaneously appreciating wider impacts and strategic drivers.

Sitting in the Product Chapter, you'll work with the Chapter lead to develop your own mastery as a Product Owner and support your peers across the chapter in driving the overall chapter capability .

You will contribute to the growth of the overall agile maturity of the business by demonstrating agile servant leadership and driving the continuous learning of the organization. You will participate in squad, tribe and business agile ceremonies to manage impediments, dependencies and drive performance.

In this role, it is essential that you show effective communication and collaborative skills to make things happen inside and outside your Squad. You will contribute to the overall output of the tribe, and this will vary depending on your squads requirements.

Key responsible
Accountable for effective Product Backlog management, which includes:
- Developing and explicitly communicating the Product Vision & Goal aligned to business strategy
- Recognised and relied upon across the business as the expert and 'go to' person for your product
- Lead the product backlog prioritisation (and squad resources) aligned to business priorities and customer value
- Collaborating with colleagues across the business to identify solutions in the best interests of the company
- Creating and clearly communicating Product Backlog items
- Ordering Product Backlog items
- Ensuring that the Product Backlog is transparent, visible and understood
- Monitors industry, technology standards/trends and other impacts to drive product innovation
- Work with colleagues and the business to define product backlog aligned to business priorities
- Driving, measuring and demonstrating the value of delivery against business objectives and key results

Attend the relevant ceremonies for your squad and where necessary your Tribe:
- Preparing the necessary content to run effective Sprint Planning
- Promoting and preparing your Squad Review ceremonies
- Be an active participant in the continues improvement and agility maturity of your squad & tribe
- Attend relevant Obeya ceremonies and work with stakeholders to resolve dependencies
- Working with squad and colleagues to deliver maximum customer benefit using agile methodologies
- Influencing and challenging business priorities and objectives

Other responsibilities:
- Product performance - driving the performance of the product and demonstrating its contribution to business performance and OKRs
- Measuring and communicating squad performance, velocity, capacity and outcomes
- End to end product ownership and expertise - definition, design, development and deployment
- Fostering and driving the agile mindset, principles and delivery approach
- Servant leadership and and squad optimisation by driving the POCLAC agenda
- Supporting squad and facilitating agile delivery
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, squads, tribes and centres of excellence across the organisation
