As a result, we currently have exciting opportunities for a Principal Engineer - CAE Durability to join the team based in Shalford, Surrey.

Job Overview:

As the Principal Engineer - CAE Durability at Gordon Murray Advanced Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in leading the durability analysis and simulation efforts. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the longevity, reliability, and robustness of our innovative automotive designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor the CAE Durability team, providing technical expertise, direction, and guidance to drive innovation and excellence.
  • Durability Analysis: Oversee the development and execution of CAE durability analyses, ensuring accurate and reliable predictions of component and system behavior under various conditions.
  • Material and Structural Optimization: Collaborate with materials engineers and structural analysts to optimize component and system designs for durability performance.
  • Simulation Tools: Utilize advanced simulation tools and methodologies to model and analyse durability aspects, guiding design improvements and mitigating potential issues.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, testing, and validation teams to integrate durability considerations seamlessly into the product development process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, leading R&D efforts to enhance CAE durability capabilities continually.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's/Master's/Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a senior role within CAE durability engineering, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of durability analysis, fatigue, and structural integrity, with hands-on experience in relevant simulation tools.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and project management skills, with a track record of guiding successful engineering teams.
  • Innovative Thinking: A creative thinker with a passion for pushing the boundaries of engineering possibilities.
