Practice Lead – Cloud & Data Centre in London

Our client are seeking a Practice Lead (Cloud and Data Center) who will operate as the technical authority across key stakeholders and across customer portfolio and in doing so guide and mentor the business both internally and at point of delivery to ensure successful outcomes.

The Practice Lead will support the Consulting Services Director to ensure the Consulting operations run and deliver in accordance with defined best practice and doing so meets the quality requirements of Consulting Services.

Provides subject matter expertise as part of the sales lifecycle for Cloud & DC aligned opportunities. Works closely with CTO in defining and delivering the Cloud & DC Service offerings as well as the enablement of the consulting practice to ensure capabilities meet strategic needs balancing cost and time.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationship and coach others in client agenda
  • Provide subject matter expertise as a leader and in active consulting capacity
  • Serve in project governance/leadership role
  • Design, perform and oversee analysis and technical decision-making.
  • Provide technical thought leadership in own area of expertise
  • Pro-active monitoring & support for pipeline aligned to practice. Review, approve and plan technical resources into the opportunity by required start date.
  • Ensure the professional development of technical resources and the performance management within context of the project / engagement.
  • Line Management of Principal Consultants aligned to Practice.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven delivery and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of Technical Design Authority.
  • Ownership of engagement (leading the team).
  • Strong understanding of markets, opportunities and competitors, as well as business issues and challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills - ability to deliver effective and persuasive presentations to our customers and employees.
  • Excellent consulting and interpersonal skills; proven ability to influence and gain consensus.
  • Structured problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Collaborative working style, encompassing all delivery disciplines.
  • Able to lead both real and virtual teams to reach one common end goal.
  • Able to provide mentoring across the delivery team.
  • Ability to travel as and when required.

Technical Expertise

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable experience across cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Expertise in application transformation using native Cloud services
  • In-depth knowledge of Dev-Ops lifecycle and associated tooling, IaC etc.
  • Deep knowledge across DCI technologies
  • Understanding of Data Centre/Cloud/Application migration methodologies
  • Vendor certifications (AWS SA Professional/Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
