ARMs client is seeking a contractor for a planning role. Industrialisation of production processes for Interior Trim Parts from concept through to an approved release for series production. Consideration of the design and engineering requirements, delivering the optimum performance in terms of quality, cost, legal requirements and volume whilst safeguarding the health and safety of the employees with fully owned Product and Process responsibility.

About you...

* 3 years process planning role with the following skills
* Technical expertise in one or more of the following specialisms:
* Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering within the Automotive industry
* Interior Trim Experience: trim cutting, sewing and covering, and assembly processes
* Wood: pressing, machining, woodworking, and assembly technology
* Ability to interpret engineering CAD data and tolerances
* Excellent organizational, presentation and problem-solving skills
* Good Project Management skills, able to prioritise activities, set milestone reviews, and present regular Mgmt summary
* Good IT skills
* Fluent English is essential and basic German is desirable
* Knowledge of Material control in SAP
The candidate must work effectively with internal production, development and planning functions as well as external suppliers. Liaison with colleagues in Germany is required.

About the role...

Nature and scope of main accountabilities
Evaluate new products, bespoke features and change requests. Calculate Hkprop Product Invest, Structure Invest, headcount, launch costs and fixed costs, space requirements for Planning Assumptions - volume, timing, design sketches providing manufacturing input into the business case analysis. Calculate manpower requirement, evaluate efficiency savings for process times in order to minimise costs.
Ability to assess Bespoke and Engineering New Product concepts regarding manufacture feasibility with focus to reduce costs, zero defect, throughput, machine capacities and high quality demand with full responsibility of calculated and submitted figures into business case calculations.
Plan the process, detail planning costs and implementation timing for released CAD drawings to ensure detailed understanding of how a part will be manufactured, jigs and tooling defined, costs detailed, implementation plan available.
Keep all necessary paperwork and legal requirements are up-to-date and proven for SAP and planning documentation, ensuring all legal requirements are met and recorded. Manage and mature key process documents during the project phases including APQP, P-FMEAs, Flow charts, Work Instructions, BOMs, Takt and Problem Resolution.
Detail equipment specifications, raise purchase orders, manage the suppliers, co-ordinate installation and commissioning of new machines and tooling, co-ordinate pre-series builds as per the Process Plan to bring new features/new models into series production. Project Manage Installation of high scope projects and ensure H&S regulations are followed.
Manage continuous improvement of the manufacturing process to deliver KPI's such as challenging Quality targets, yearly tM savings to reduce costs and support problem solving in all Production areas.
* Purpose and subject of interaction with internal / external customers and key contacts.
* Providing manufacturing feasibility to design and engineering proposals.
* Process, equipment, facility and layout design to achieve best fit economic and quality.
* Headcount Planning - Change management or parts/processes in production areas.
* Stock Management and parts ordering in Pre-Production launch Projects and schedule production volume planning to meet customer delivery point in launch Projects.
* Bill of Material responsible to calculate accurate part consumption to ensure Point of Fit will be met
* Challenges with regard to innovation and change.
* Providing cost evaluations based on very little design / engineering information.
* Giving feasibility to design / engineering before trial parts have been made.
* To ensure all parties (engineering, suppliers and production) deliver their commitments on time.
* Introduction of new materials and equipment innovations with new process specifications. Meet extravagant material and design challenges within the Bespoke business.

Based in Goodwood, paying up to £29 PH.
