Due to their continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Build Engineer to join their team.

The Role

Important: Applications are only being accepted from candidates based in the UK.

Our client is seeking Mechanical Build Engineers who are curious and detail-oriented to assist with the design and build of bespoke electromechanical automation systems. You will work closely with key stakeholders to review technical drawings and construct high-quality, robot-based systems that meet required safety standards.

As a Mechanical Build Engineer, collaboration and communication across different departments will be essential to delivering technical projects successfully. You will be expected to proactively share your skills, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement, while independently troubleshooting mechanical issues and implementing effective solutions.

This role also requires travel to client sites for the installation of robotic systems. Given the nature of the projects, particularly in the defence sector, the successful candidate must be a British Citizen and able to obtain security clearance up to Developed Vetting (DV) level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess technical drawings to build custom electromechanical automation systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high standards of project delivery.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and implement solutions.
  • Travel to client sites for installation and commissioning of robotic systems.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualifications: HNC in a mechanical-focused discipline, mechanical apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.
  • Skills: Proficient with milling machines and lathes, and skilled in drilling, tapping, grinding, and other general mechanical workshop tasks.
  • Technical Aptitude: Confident in reading technical electrical drawings and working with industrial systems, particularly in relation to safety standards.
  • Problem Solving: Independent thinker with strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Full UK driving licence.
    • Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal English.
    • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
    • Willingness to travel for on-site installations.

What the Company Offers:

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Flexible working environment.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
  • Occupational sick pay.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Free parking.
  • Friendly and supportive team environment.

If you are a skilled Mechanical Build Engineer eager to work on exciting automation projects and bring innovative solutions to life, our client would love to hear from you!

Apply today to be part of their dynamic team!

Please note: This role is only open to UK-based applicants and requires security clearance.
