Lead Commercial Manager - London - Contract - £508 per day (Umbrella)

ARM is currently recruiting for a Lead Commercial Manager to join a client based in London on an initial 4 month contract, offering hybrid working.

The Lead Commercial Manager will oversee the delivery of commercial activities, processes and systems within the Capital Management team.

Responsibilities
* Managing the commercial activities and their inter relation on major work-streams, projects and programmes to deliver commercial control, including identifying and assessing potential risks to commercial agreements and supplier performance.
* Plan, deliver and manage all procurement activities to deliver contracts and frameworks for works, goods, and services contracts.
* Management of estimating and cost planning using construction and engineering industry market economics and understanding their impact on cost and price.
* Management of construction, engineering, supply and service contracts.
* Preparation of detailed analysis of variances and explanations, and understanding of concept of, and ability to calculate earned value.
* Formulation of negotiation parameters, analysis and interpretation of commercial data and demonstration of flexibility whilst achieving negotiation objectives.
* Management of claims, mitigation and advising on defence of claims, including analysis of the various parties' positions.
* Chair of performance meetings with suppliers, communicates performance data and agrees improvement plans.

Requirements
* Knowledge and experience of how the various commercial activities inter relate and are applied on major work streams, projects and programmes.
* Understands and interprets market information appropriately and deploys it effectively in strategy development.
* Able to produce estimates for major schemes appropriate for all design stages, understanding the limitations of each and applicable levels of optimisation bias, risk and contingency and apply cost checks to emerging designs.
* Knowledge of JCT / ICE / NEC forms of contract and their differences, and the ability to manage contract administration, including contract communications, change control, variation/compensation event assessment, valuation/certification; contract remedies and contract close out.
* Knowledge of Construction and Case Law in relation to Claims Management, and ability to undertake analysis of claims.
* Proven experience of managing complex customer and supplier relationships and expectations in a projects environment.
