Electronics Test Engineer in Oldham, Greater Manchester

ARM have partnered with a specialist engineering company in Greater Manchester to help support their ambitious growth plans. They focus on the Repair, Test and Overhaul of Safety Critical Electronic and Electrical Equipment, predominantly within the rail industry, and are looking for experienced Electronics Test Engineers to join the team.
About You:
You will be an experienced Electronics Engineer, specifically including:
- Relevant Professional Qualification in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience in testing, including Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and manual testing using standard industry equipment (Oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, frequency generators etc.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Rail industry experience would be highly beneficial, but is not essential
What you will be doing:
You will be joining a repair team working on Engineering, Test, Repair and Overhaul services for a wide range of equipment associated with passenger and freight rolling stock electronics including mainline trains, trams and London Underground fleets. This can include:
- The repair, test and overhaul to component level, of standard and complex analogue & digital electronic/electrical equipment, working to specific Industry standards.
- Solving technical challenges as they arise.
- Ensuring repairs are completed on time and in line with customers' requirements.
- Providing in-house technical support, suggesting acceptable alternative components in cases of obsolescence.
- Being flexible to support other departments as required.
- Liaising with colleagues, clients, and suppliers as appropriate.
- Training and mentoring of others as required.
- Aiding in the Design of Test Boxes & Test Rigs for Manual and Automatic Testing of electronic equipment, including the development of Test & Diagnostic software.
This is a full time permanent role, based in Oldham.
