Electrical Engineer (Internal Communications)

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the internal communications design team, carrying out a range of design activities involving data networks, communications systems, and equipment for submarine platforms. This role would be deal if you are looking to develop your career within Defence as it offers a great deal of exposure across the business, with developmental opportunities on both the technical side (consultant engineer etc.) and engineering management side.
You'll be responsible for -
* Designing and delivering communications and audio systems to naval vessels, determining requirements and design standards
* Developing system(s) design and solutions to technical problems
* Writing technical reports, specifications, user guides, and manuals with the preparation of design calculations to demonstrate designs meet performance requirements
* Presenting results to internal / external customers
* Preparing test requirements and support to dockside installation and commissioning teams
* Reviewing test and qualification evidence for compliance against requirements
* Undertaking technical development studies to verify and validate compliance with design requirements
* Providing technical input to the engineering and project management team to produce robust cost estimates, technical risk assessment and reduction
* Where required, supporting Factory Acceptance Testing of system equipment at supplier premises
Key Skills & Experience we are looking for -
*Beng/BSc and/or MEng/MSc degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as, or equivalent experience in;
*Communications Engineering
*Electrical Engineering
*Telecommunications
*Electronic Engineering
*Acoustics / Audio Engineering / Audio Technology
*Technical report writing skills
*CEng (or be able to work towards satisfying requirements for Chartership) with an accredited institution
*Knowledge and experience in defence standards
*Knowledge and experience of classification society rules, International and UK marine equipment legislation
