Electrical Design Engineer - Permanent - Lowestoft - £Negotiable + Benefits

Location: Ideally based in Lowestoft (Remote work may be considered)

Advanced Resource Managers (ARM) is recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading UK marine electronics and electrical systems supplier. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. This role is ideally based in Lowestoft, with flexibility for remote work for the right candidate. It's an exciting opportunity to work on innovative marine projects with an expanding industry leader.

About the Role:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing complex electrical systems for various marine applications. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing concept, initial, and detailed designs for electrical systems.
  • Conducting electrical load balance and analysis.
  • Creating specifications, calculations, and one-line diagrams for generator and distribution systems.
  • Performing voltage drop, short-circuit, and selectivity analyses.
  • Designing interface systems for automation, navigation, communication, and auxiliary functions on ships.
  • Collaborating with system suppliers and liaising with class societies and shipowners.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with experience in complex electrical systems design-ideally in a marine or ship design context.
  • Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with varied tasks and decisions that require integrity, quality, and safety.
  • Proficiency in IT tools, particularly MS Office and CAD.
