Design Manager in Plymouth, Devon

Role Details:

• 12-Months Contract

• Plymouth Devonport Royal Dockyard - Hybrid and Agile work available

The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting experienced Design Managers to join Nuclear Defence client, to be based out of Plymouth Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Some of your duties will include:

• Provide Technical design guidance and review of the overall design packages
• Ensure that the design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager
• Ensuring effective Quality Management Arrangements operate and deliver through compliance with Business Management System and Technical Manual
• Ensure that the processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied
• Ensure that staff and contractors are familiar with the hazards and risks associated with the work undertaken by the consultant team
• Liaise with the User Acceptance Group Lead / Engineer

What do you need to succeed?

• Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements.
• Experience providing expert advice to the sub-contracted design houses to enable them to develop designs.
• Sound project specification, planning, project management and budgeting experience.
• Sound understanding of organisational and departmental procedures relating to Design, Health & Safety, and Quality requirements, and the ability to manage projects in accordance with these procedures.
• Working knowledge of relevant engineering office computer applications
• Must Have, bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Must Have; Experience working withing a Design Management Background.
• Must Have Experience Working within the Nuclear Sector.
