About the Role:
The Energy Division at Advanced Resource Manager is currently looking for a Design Manager - Buildings in a Leading Nuclear Defence Business
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review design packages by consultants to ensure delivery of building designs meets expectations.
- Ensure systems are designed against a clear statement of compliance with defined requirements, including safety functional requirements and demonstration that the design meets relevant HSE requirements.
- Line manages a small team of multidisciplinary technical engineers to review deliverables.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert advice and technical design guidance and review of overall design packages.
- Ensure design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.
- Plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and contributing to the project's technical planning process.
- Ensure effective Quality Management Arrangements operate and deliver through compliance with the company's Business Management System and Technical Manual
What You Need to Succeed
- Experience in the design and construction of major new industrial buildings with multifunctionality (workshops, storage, offices, etc.)
- Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary design teams and reviewing design packages.
- Strong technical engineering skills, with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering
- Chartered Architect or Engineer registration with an appropriate body is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and team members.
- Familiarity with high-hazard facilities in the nuclear sector or hospitals is beneficial.
- Willingness to complete company-specific courses on appointment, such as site induction, fire safety, diversity, anti-bribery, and data protection
- Active SC Clearance
