My Client is seeking a Data Architect to join our team, driven by solving complex and varied client challenges. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the strategy, architecture, and high-level design of data-intensive solutions for both structured and unstructured data applications. You will play a crucial role in business development, working closely with Client Managers in a pre-sales capacity to identify and design solutions that support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and communicate data strategies for Defence and public sector clients, ensuring data governance and robust processes.
  • Design data architectures for software and analytics solutions, either as standalone projects or part of larger, multi-disciplinary programs.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Campaign teams to foster client relationships and develop technical requirements.
  • Lead and guide a team of data engineers in delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Provide technical mentorship and coaching to junior staff.
  • Represent the company's technical expertise to clients, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Data Architecture and Strategy, within the Defence Sector.
  • Strong expertise in designing data models and pipelines across both on-premises and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Proven ability to work within Agile frameworks and manage subcontractors.
  • Degree in STEM or equivalent experience in data-centric roles.

Location:

  • Can be based in Hampshire, Surrey or Gloucestershire
